The Founder

"I spent ten years as a cosmetic chemist, watching formulas get compromised at every turn — by cost, by trends, by what looked good on a label. Lumière was my way of doing it right."

Sophie Marchand founded Lumière in 2019 after leaving a senior role at a global beauty conglomerate. Armed with a PhD in biochemistry and a deep frustration with industry shortcuts, she developed each formula herself from her laboratory in Lyon — spending an average of 18 months per product before release.

Today, Lumière remains independently owned, refusing outside investment that might compromise its values. Every product is still approved by Sophie before it reaches your hands.
